Stayed 3 nights with Tashi's family. Aimi (his wife) cooked us 6 different dishes every day. Their daughter taught us Tibetan phrases. Cried when we left.

Tashi's Family Homestay
In the village of Manigango proper, Tashi's family has been hosting travelers for over a decade.
About this stay
Tashi and her family have been hosting travelers in their home in Manigango village for over ten years. Their home is the kind of place that can't be booked through normal channels — it's there because a family decided to share what they have.
You'll have a private room, home-cooked Tibetan meals, and a chance to be part of village life for a few days. The best place to start a trek (acclimatize, learn the rhythms) and the best place to end one (decompress, share what you saw).
Unlike the high-altitude shelters, Tashi's home has WiFi, hot showers, and electricity. A useful first or last stop on any Manigango itinerary.
What's included
Stay here
Tashi's Family Homestay is typically visited as part of multi-day treks. Book a trail that includes this stop — or message us about standalone stays.
What travelers say
A real Tibetan home, not a hotel pretending to be one. Hot water from the kettle, blankets that smell like pine, conversations with Tashi about his grandfather's horses.
Best tsampa of my life, full stop. Tashi's son took us on a horseback morning ride that cost nothing extra. We are still emailing each other photos.
